Blog Post #1 of 5: Embracing a New Beginning: Reclaiming Your Identity After Divorce

When my marriage unexpectedly ended, I was definitely caught off guard. But I refused to let it knock me down and keep me there. No swan dives into a carton of Butter Pecan! Instead, I threw myself a one-woman dance party. Hey, it was a chance to reclaim myself and envision the limitless possibilities ahead.

This straightforward, determined approach has been the hallmark of my divorce recovery journey. Moving forward with humor, and optimism, and surrounding myself with self-love proved far more empowering than wallowing.

Here’s what I’ve discovered: By prioritizing self-care and surrounding ourselves with compassionate support (at least a couple of friends willing to laugh and cry with you), we can not only survive this transition, we can emerge from it stronger, and more resilient, and more in touch with our authentic selves than ever before. Think of it as your chrysalis period before emerging as one bada** butterfly.

Remember, you’re not just someone’s “ex.” You’re a vibrant, multifaceted woman with dreams, talents, and an incredible future ahead. Embrace this opportunity to rediscover yourself – it might just be the greatest adventure of your life.
